Firestone Instrumental

Concert Band is a yearlong course at Firestone. Students learn and develop skills in ensemble playing and musicianship. Concert ensembles perform in about 6 concerts throughout the year, including OMEA Adjudicated Events. There are 1-2 concert band ensembles, which depends on the instrumentation.

Part of the Concert Band Ensemble course at Firestone, Marching Band rehearses during the school day and typically 2 days a week after school. The Marching Band performs at Firestone Football Games and OMEA Marching Band Events. Rehearsals typically start in late July to prepare for the fall season. Color Guard is also part of the Marching Band during the fall season. During the winter months, we have an Indoor Color Guard that competes across the state.

Firestone has two orchestra ensembles; a Concert Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra. Students learn and develop skills in ensemble playing and musicianship. The groups typically perform string orchestra music, but occasionally the Chamber Orchestra adds wind instruments depending on the music being performed.
